I've got a Hume and an Elvaan char. Hume is for all mage classes and Elvaan for melee, but I'm aksing myself it it would make too much trouble to lvl 2 diffrent chars... I love the Elvaans fighting style, thats why I made a second char. I've heard of things like maats cape that you only get if you fought him with 6 diffrent jobs and I would have got to get sea and sky twice ( I dont even know what that is lol)

I know of a few people that have raised multiple characters, and frankly I don't see how they do it. It is time consuming enough to level your jobs, I couldn't even imagine building fame, doing all your missions, ZM's (ZM4 ugh!!!), subjob quest, genkais, etc. more than once. Since you can switch between jobs (and nations, to see all the mission storylines) freely, there's not much reason to bring up an "alt". Still, like I said, some people do it.

In case you feel you might regret your choice of race, there is plenty of race-specific gear that can compensate for your race's weaknesses. Or you can just stick with your Hume, which is average across the board.

I do it, and yeah, it's a pain, but different people find fun in different things (btw, just made 2 more new characters).

don't let race restrict the jobs you want to play. Hume elvaan mithra all these 3 are in the middle and can play every job just fine. They do have different advantage but not that huge of a gap. Even a tarutaru will play tank jobs just fine. Just need a little more effort.

I would say, for multiple characters, having a second char being healing/supporting type will help your main by a ton. Assuming you're 2 boxxing. I have a whm mule levelled up and able to teleport my main anywhere anytime and it's pretty handy.

Yes, both chars are on 1 account. I just like both races and I prefer Humes as mages, cause of MP and Elvaans as melee cause of their look, fighting style and stats, but its kinda stupid to lvl 2 chars ><

the stats really don't amount to much in the end (abundance of stat boosting high-level gear). just make sure you are happy with the way your toon looks because that can't be altered.

Hm, if I could change it i think i would choose Elvaan, but my Hume is blm40 smn38(all avatars except fenrir) whm36 war30 bst20 (I promised to myself that I'll never lvl bst again ^^) atleast fame 4 everywhere and all my friends know this char....but I love elvaan lol.. but I guess its a bit late to think about this^^

40 is not that late. I had 70rdm 70rng 65brd 60blm on my hume. I am now a 75rdm tarutaru.

I think I've made a decission...I knew that I didnt really wanted to give up my hume as I didnt wanted to do all the work again. I now wanted to start lvling a melee job on my elvaan like nin or sam, but I noticed that I didnt had enough fame and I also would need help for the quest. I would have to lvl whm to 36 again for teles and so on... too much stress^^ I think I'll just switch my look sometimes with the race changer to feel a bit like an elvaan lol^^
